Pugmire Christmas Party 12/22/12

We held this year's Pugmire family Christmas party on the Saturday before Christmas, which was also my Grandma Bodily's birthday.  We used to have so much at her house around the holidays especially with the cousins and I love that my kids now get to make fun memories with their cousins at their grandparents'.  My mom did the 12 days of Christmas for all of us again this year, so we had already been spoiled with getting to open a present a day leading up to the party.  The day started out with a yummy breakfast and then we got to open presents.  This was followed by all kinds of fun activities that my mom had planned including a bean bag toss, ring toss (with 2 liters of pop as prizes), a treasure hunt, decorating rice crispy trains, and making bead candy cane decorations.  There was the annual skeet shoot, which my kids and I missed since it was freezing cold and Brandt is still terrified of the noisy guns.  We also had impromptu face painting; Brandt was the Grinch/Rudolph while Kenzie, Kylie, and Rylie all wanted Rudolph noses and Amanda Jean wanted a princess.  Once again, Bryce was the most sought after face painting artist.  Then we had another yummy meal-ham and funeral potatoes-one of my favorites!
Brandt always seems to have a hard time with his behaviors around the holidays, especially with the large family gatherings and parties, and this year was no different.  I wish I could figure out how to better prepare him for all the excitement without having him get so stressed out and having the big meltdowns so that he could just enjoy it all as much as I used to when I was his age.  The day started out to be a very difficult one with him, but thankfully he was able to get it under control and we still had a great day!

Christmas Eve 2012

This year the Thompson family had Christmas Eve dinner at Tara and Kevin's.  Grandma Hemmert came with Dan, Linda, and Justin and Kevin's parents, Lyn and Lorna Wells came, too.  We were just missing Quinn and Maleri's family.  The kids had a lot of fun playing and buddy remembered that they read The Night Before Christmas last year and made sure they did it again this year.  Adrie got to be the honored reader and did a great job with a little help from Rylie.  As the pictures show, Kylie buddied up with Kaylen all night and had a great time being silly with her.

Mistletoe

Brandt loves art and is quite creative.  During the month of December our doorway was graced with his homemade mistletoe.  He loved making anyone who walked under it at the same time stop for a smooch-including my parents.

Paris School Christmas Program 2012

This is the first year for Brandt to be in the school Christmas Program.  He did such a great job!!  I was proud of him for not getting too stage fright and for staying in his place throughout the entire program. Kylie loved the show and was so good to sit and watch it.It was fun to see Allee and Jolie this year since they live here now and I also enjoyed watching the kids from our ward and the kids I've gotten to know by going to help out at school each week.  Brandt sang You've Got a Friend in Me, Jingle Bell Rock, Holly Jolly Christmas, and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.  Buddy knew every word and it was so much fun listening to him sing them all month long!

Santa-Ward Party 12/14/12

My favorite part of the ward party was the primary children singing.  Kylie was such a good girl sitting by her brother and they both sang out really well.  I'm blessed to be in primary to be able to hear them sing every week.  What a powerful testimony of God's love for all of us!

The Santa this year was the best!  He was kind and gentle and my kids loved him.

Brandt looks like he's thinking... "hmmm, naughty or nice???"  Probably a little of both, but that's ok, we'll take it! :)
