Newest Member of our Ward

Brandt was excited to stand up in sacrament meeting today and be introduced as the newest member of the St. Charles Ward.  I'm so humbled to be the mom of this handsome little boy who is trying his best to make good choices despite all the challenges this world throws at him.  I love him with all my heart and hope to be able to teach him what he needs to know to continue to choose the right.

8 Is Great!!

Brandt's baptism day was something we had looked forward to and worked toward for months, and it turned out to be such a special day.  He was baptized by his dad with Grandpa Lloyd and Grandpa Doug as witnesses.  Afterward he was confirmed by his dad with grandpas, uncles, his counselor, Shaun, and bishop Jordan Jensen standing in his circle.  Later we had a family meal at St. Charles church-Brandt's choice was ham, since that's one of the few foods he will actually eat.  We are so blessed to be supported by so many wonderful people!

Where There's a Will, There's a Way

When Brandt gets something on his mind, he gets super stuck on it.  Apparently today he was determined to get inside of the barn and get the bike and his skate board out.  He ended up finding a way to unscrew the lock and pull the door open enough to squeeze through.  By the time I found him he was halfway out the door with the bike.  He was upset I caught him and was also upset when I reminded him how mad his dad would probably be that he had broken in.  He helped come up with a plan to at least fix it and then apologize to Bryce when he got home.  I helped him find a screwdriver and put the lock back together the best we could.  He found that it was a lot harder to put the screws back in that it had been to tear them apart, but he kept at it and didn't give up.  Afterward, he was happy and proud of himself for accomplishing something hard, and I was proud of him for taking a step in learning the repentance process.
