The kids and I went to the Nutcracker Ballet at the Ellen Eccles Theater in Logan tonight. They have been so excited and counting down the days all month. Bryce opted out of going but was happy to let us get enough tickets to take some of the Hilliers with us so that he didn't have to go. Brandt and Kylie were both so happy when their new "Nutcracker clothes" came in the mail last week. You have never seen a boy so excited to wear a tux!! He wanted to wear it and pretend to be a conductor all day long! We headed to Logan early enough to eat at Sizzler before going to the theater. Lisa, Mariah, and Gabe went with us along with Cindy Lauridsen who came at the last minute when Sammy wasn't able to. We had a lot of fun! The ballet was fabulous and what a beautiful theater! The kids LOVED the dancing, LOVED the orchestra, and LOVED getting to meet some of the cast members afterward. Brandt's favorite characters were the Russian Prince and Mother Ginger and her(his) clowns. Kylie favored the Sugar Plum Fairy as well as Mother Ginger and the clowns. Both kids thought it was hilarious that Mother Ginger was a man dressed up like a woman. They each got a souvenir-buddy a Nutcracker and sister a tiara. All in all it was a wonderful way to bring in the Christmas season and I hope to be able to take them again someday-maybe we'll even get Bryce there somehow...
