Last night Bryce and I took the kids to the boys basketball game in Montpelier. When we left home at about 7pm there were blue skies and bare roads. We came home in a blizzard 3 hours later and had 6 inches of fresh snow in our driveway. Just as we were getting ready for bed there was a knock at our door and Sammi and her friend, Tahnee, hadn't been able to see where they were going and had missed their corner. They tried to turn around in our driveway and got stuck. They were giggling and embarrassed, but my kids thought it was great to have visitors! Bryce went out and got them unstuck just before Jared, Mariah, and Gabe walked down to help. So then Brandt and Kylie were even more excited and wired! I'm afraid they received a bit of an education since sister has been pretty interested in the difference in male and female anatomy lately and told each of them who had pee-pees and who just had bums like her. She then told them about "treasure chests". In teaching her female anatomy, I have told her that we have chests since I thought that was a more polite and age appropriate way to reference breasts. A month or so ago, she started calling them treasures. It took us a bit to figure out that she was saying that because my mom has a treasure chest that she filled with prizes at Christmas and let the kids go through. So, Kylie made the connection between the words and now says girls have treasures and when we try to correct her she calls them treasure chests. Unfortunately she also points out who has "big treasures" at times. She is the funniest girl, but I'm not sure if everyone would see the humor in it if they knew what she was really talking about. Back to the snow storm... by early the next morning we had over a foot of new snow and Bryce had to go out early and then plow all day. My dad rescued me by bringing the tractor and plowing our driveway out for us. Kylie got to go ride with him in the tractor and loved every minute of it. Then she had fun building a little snowman in front of the garage and "swimming" through the snow that was too deep for her to walk in. She refused to come in until she got snow inside her boots and decided she didn't like to have cold, wet feet.
